Twilight Eclipse preview: Thumbs up from me!

Don't worry - there are no spoilers here to ruin it for you!

Five of us went to see a preview screening of Twilight Eclipse this morning and it was fantastic!!

The friends that I went with are all mahoosive fans but as much as I enjoy the Twlight franchise, I wouldn't really call myself a Twi-hard (apparently a term for Twilight obsessives?!). I loved the first book and movie but I'm still roughly only halfway through reading New Moon, and only watched the NM DVD last night because I didn't want to be completely lost watching Eclipse!

However, I couldn't help but to be swept along in the hysteria sitting in a cinema full of baying Twi-hard women wearing various Team Edward / Team Jacob (delete as apropriate) tees etc. and man, those women love their Twilight!!

I say women (plus around three long-suffering boyfriends/husbands!) because the ratio was around 2:1 in favour of the over 40's, which really surprised me. I thought that was really cool actually... when I get excited about a new Harry Potter movie, my friends and I are usually the oldest there if you don't count those taking their children along!

I'm not going to give anything away because I know many UK fans won't be lucky enough to be able go to a preview (we booked our tickets on 17th June!), and it doesn't officially open here until Friday, 9th July.

What I will tell you is this:

Yes, there was clapping and cheering, yes there were audible appreciative sighs when Jacob Black appeared shirtless for the first time (helloooo Taylor Lautner!), yes I now want a pet wolf and yes my heart still belongs to Rob Pattinson.

Would I see it again / buy the DVD? Oh yes!

Am I still 100% Team Edward? Hmmm... the jury's out.

Mr Pattinson is bloomin' gorgeous though. That is all.

"New Moon"... or once in a blue moon?

Excuse the rubbish title haha!

Bit of a trivial post this, but I've been trying to read "New Moon" by Stephenie Meyer for ages now and I just can't seem to immerse myself in it. I'm still only at page 104. Very annoying, as I loved the first "Twilight" novel.

I keep putting it down in favour of reading a few chapters of Lauren Conrad's "LA Candy"... which, actually, I am really enjoying! Yeah... I know... but at least we've established that I'm not a book snob ;)

I've been lent the "New Moon" DVD but everyone tells me to read the book first...

Have you read "New Moon"? If you have, did you experience the same as me initially or did it grab you from the first page? I HATE giving up on books but this is a bit of a slog at the moment!

On my insomniac mind....

I have insomnia. Again. Currently thinking about:

1) My "Christmas Present Ideas" list which then migrates into:

2) "Christmas Presents - DONE" list (yes, it exists - get me!)

3) "Christmas Presents - TO BUY" list

4) "Christmas Card List" ... which is currently a blank page...

5) I hope to God that Marks & Spencer's online shopping service has improved since last year when half of the presents arrived after Christmas, despite me ordering in the first week of December. I was so disgusted that I swore that I'd never buy from them again. Clearly I never learn.

6) I must, must, MUST stop buying from the E.L.F website! I think I've spent around £40 this month :/ I feel so selfish treating myself at this time of year (see above)

7) I really want to eat the tin of Quality Street that I bought as a family present for my mum (family present - that also includes me haha!).

8) What are the people over the road DOING?? It's 1:00am and they keep slamming their wheely bin lid.

9) I think that I could actually abandon Facebook in favour of Twitter... the addiction is wearing off and I'm getting sick of my News Feed constantly being spammed with everyone's Mob Wars and Farmville achievements... (anyone else with me on this?)

10) I enjoyed "Twilight" (the book) but for some reason cannot get into "New Moon"...

11) ... which I started reading for two reasons. Firstly, because the movie came out, obv, and secondly because the Gordon Smith book I was reading scared me to death (I read to get to sleep)

12) I'm cold but refuse to switch the heating on outside of the timer programme. I have asked Santa for a pink Slanket :)

14) (no #13, I'm superstitious) I REALLY hope my cousin Michael gets his double lung transplant in 2010. Cystic Fibrosis is a cruel, cruel illness :( Mike's had a terrible year and I want him to be well again. He's GOT to get the transplant. I cannot bear to think of it not happening. I want him to be well.

15) Actually, all I want for all of my Christmasses is for Mike to get his transplant. I love him so much. He's always been incredibly brave and it breaks my heart because he's been feeling so ill.

Right, I'm off to make some Horlicks I think! Goodnight xx
